Spring Exhibition / Test - Wednesday June 7th
As many of you know, Tae Kwon Do: Korean Karate is based on ancient self-defense techniques and, like most martial arts, advancement and acknowledgment is achieved through a colored belt ranking system. On June 7th, 2016, there will be a belt test and Karate exhibition for Mission Students, which will be an opportunity to demonstrate their newly learned Martial Arts skills to their family and friends, but to improve their rank in the World Martial Arts Association. The WMAA is a nationally renowned Martial Arts organization headed by Headmaster Dr. Michael T Dealy, and has schools in New York, California, Texas, and Indiana. Dr. Dealy will be presiding over the event.
Place: The gymnasium at the Hanna Senesh School located at 342 Smith Street.
Date: Wednesday June 7th
Time: 4:00pm - 5:30pm
Between now and then, I will be letting students know if they are ready for promotion to the next rank. For most students who are eligible, this would be a make-up test for those who either missed the test in November or weren't quite ready. I understand schedules are tough these days, but it would be nice to see some higher ranking students (Brown and Black Belts) attending this event, to practice, demonstrate or even just support their school and fellow students. Mission students who are enrolled in the Black Belt Club will be rehearsing a special board breaking demonstration for the spectators! Students should arrive promptly at 4:00 and be dressed in full uniform.
The registration fees are as follows:
Stripe on the White Belt - No Fee
Solid Belt Test (Yellow through Purple) - $60
Stripe above White Belt - $25
Brown Belt Test - $75
If you or your student is ready for the test, I will be sending a registration form to be filled out and return on the day of the test with payment. Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns or questions.
