Brown Belt Special Practice on WednesdaysSpecial PracticeSubmitted by pat on Tue, 04/29/2008 - 3:49am.May 7 2008 - 7:30pm When a student of Tae Kwon Do reaches the Brown Belt level, they require a higher level of training that can only be attained when surrounded by the intensity and focus they are on the road to achieving. Beginning May 7th, on the first Wednesday of every month I will be taking the Brown Belt students from Mission to visit the weekly advanced Tae Kwon Do class taught by Headmaster Michael T. Dealy at the Brooklyn Heights Montessori School. Tae Kwon Do in the ParkSpecial PracticeSubmitted by pat on Tue, 05/29/2007 - 4:10am.Jun 2 2007 - 10:00am
In the Catskill Mountains if New York State, Tae Kwon Do practitioners of all ages train outdoors in an attempt to connect more with nature and our environment. The students at mission will be given an opportunity to practice out-doors at our ‘Tae Kwon Do in the Park’ classes. On the days of these classes the students, if they wish to attend, will meet at Carroll Park in the upper park (closer to Court Street) at regular class time. The children MUST be wearing sneakers; however they may wear sweats or shorts if they do not want to wear their uniform pants. Plain (or close to it) T-shirts are recommended as it may be warm that day and students are encouraged to wear their belts. In case of rain practice will be at Mission. » calendar
Board Breaking WorkshopsSpecial PracticeSubmitted by pat on Tue, 05/29/2007 - 3:58am.May 29 2007 - 3:30pm May 31 2007 - 5:30pm
Although in no way an expression of true Martial Arts, Tae Kwon Do students find it exciting and rewarding to put their skills to the test in an age old demonstration of strength focus, courage. At this workshop the students will be given an opportunity to use a simple and safe technique to break one or more karate boards. To make sure that every student who is able to attend gets an opportunity to break, we will be holding the workshops during class time 3 days that week. The workshop will cost $5 towards the cost of the boards and the students will get to take their broken boards home as souvenirs of the experience. Class Observation WeekSpecial PracticeSubmitted by pat on Thu, 12/14/2006 - 4:12pm.Dec 18 2006 - 10:00am Dec 23 2006 - 7:00pm The week before we close for the holidays will be Observation week. Parents and friends are invited to watch the Tae Kwon Do classes in their entirety. I think you will all be in for a treat as you discover how much the students have learned over the last 4 months and how much they enjoy Tae Kwon Do. » calendar
